Software Control Engineer

Job Title: Software Control Engineer

Job Summary: As a software control engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development, testing, and enhancement of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and actively contribute to product development processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, with a preference for expertise in Siemens TIA Portal. Experience in Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programming, particularly with WinCC / WinCC Unified, as well as proficiency with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) from Siemens and Danfoss, is highly desirable. Additionally, a solid understanding of communication protocols is crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. PLC Software Development:

    • Develop and enhance PLC software to meet project requirements.

    • Utilize Siemens TIA Portal for efficient and effective programming.

  2. Testing and Optimization:

    • Conduct thorough testing of PLC software to identify and rectify errors.

    • Continuously improve software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  3. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project goals and requirements.

    • Actively participate in collaborative efforts, contributing engineering expertise to achieve project milestones.

  4. HMI Programming:

    • Utilize WinCC / WinCC Unified for HMI programming, ensuring a user-friendly interface.

    • Collaborate with designers to create intuitive and visually appealing human-machine interfaces.

  5. Variable Frequency Drives (VFD):

    • Apply expertise in VFDs from Siemens and Danfoss to optimize control and energy efficiency.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to variable frequency drives.

  6. Communication Protocols:

    • Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols to ensure seamless integration within the automation system.

    • Stay updated on industry-standard communication protocols and integrate them into the automation solutions.

  7. Documentation:

    • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of PLC programs, configurations, and system architecture.

    • Generate reports on testing, optimization, and system performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming, with a preference for Siemens TIA Portal.

  • Experience in HMI programming, particularly with WinCC / WinCC Unified.

  • Proficiency in Variable Frequency Drives from Siemens and Danfoss.

  • Strong understanding of communication protocols.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Ongoing projects

-          Development of software for battery powered wheel loader, including our patented electric actuators that replaces the hydraulic system and saves energy

-          Development of software for endurance test of the patented electric actuator, including logging and cctv monitoring.

-          Deep push Seabed CPT unit, a system for soil investigation for offshore windfarms.

-          Various smaller projects that include CT winches, AHC winches
